  1. First of all I want to say great blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before
writing. I have had a hard time clearing my mind
in getting my thoughts out. I truly do enjoy writing but
it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted just trying to figure out how to
begin. Any recommendations or hints? Thank you!

    • Thanks!
For me, it’s in the actual process of doing the exercise of a timed writing prompt that I find myself clearing my brain of clutter and cenering myself. I use writing to timed prompts as practice writing, (doesn’t matter if its good, drek, fragmented thoughts whatever) and to warm up for what ever project I’m working on at the moment Try not over thinking the exercise. Look at the prompt and go with the first thought, image that pops in your mind Keep your hand moving no matter what for five minutes, ten. If you can’t think of anything to write, keep writing the prompt over and over until you do. And beleive me something will come to you. I hope that helps!
